Be sure to keep your nights free this August as the Singapore Night Festival returns for its 15th iteration from Aug 23 to Sep 7. That's right, you can enjoy art installations, experiential programmes and festival villages over three weekends this year.
CNA Lifestyle recently had an early look at some of the fun activities you can do at Singapore Night Festival 2024, including visiting a retro amusement park and activating a Chinese opera via a tricycle.
1. WONDER WORLD - THE MACHINE OF NOSTALGIA
The highlight of this year's Singapore Night Festival is Wonder World, a magical amusement park that calls back to the ones from the 50s in Singapore. Relive the good ol' days and ponder how our heritage can apply to the future as you can go on rides and play at game stalls.
Within Wonder World, you'll find a carousel, game stalls and more. There'll also be a bunch of programmes including a wrestling show and a poetry match.
Do note that tokens are required to enter Wonder World. Tokens can be purchased at this website.

2. PROJECTION MAPPINGS
Projection mapping displays have become a hallmark of the Singapore Night Festival, with previous years boasting eye-catching and thought-provoking animations. This year is no different with most of the action happening at CHIJMES.
The building will display four captivating works during the festival's duration: The pinball machine-themed Pinbola, the imagination-themed Play Downstairs, the fantastical Whimsical Odyssey and the joyful A Prototype Of Play.
This year also marks the first time that the Peranakan Museum is hosting a projection mapping work for the Singapore Night Festival. Created in collaboration with regional artists, Between Threads is inspired by elements from the Peranakan Museum’s collection and transforms through audience interactions, giving attendees multiple ways to appreciate the work.

3. NIGHT LIGHTS INSTALLATIONS
Get ready to do some walking if you want gorgeous night pictures this year as there'll be 10 site-specific luminous installations around the BBB district. These include First Flight, an interactive installation that mimics a paper plane, and Opera In Motion, where you can activate a Chinese opera by pedalling a tricycle.
4. FESTIVAL VILLAGES
Prepare to party hearty as Singapore Night Festival 2024 features a late-night festival village called Twilight Playground @ GR.iD which also has an escape room experience and a beer garden.
Three other festival villages will also return including one at Singapore Management University’s Campus Green, one at CHIJMES and another at Armenian Street. All four festival villages will have loads of food and performances.
