The original stars will also executive produce the show, along with writers and executive producers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who worked on another Disney Channel comedy spinoff, Raven’s Home – the sequel to Raven Symone's That's So Raven.
The Wizards Of Waverly Place sequel picks up after a mysterious incident at WizTech, the show’s school for wizards. In this continuation, an adult Justin Russo had chosen to give up his magical powers to live a normal, human life with his wife and two sons. However, he gets a surprise visit from Billie, a powerful young wizard in need of training, and he has to embrace his past to save the future of the Wizard World.
Billie will be played by actress Janice LeAnn Brown, who appeared in Disney’s Just Roll With It and HBO’s Euphoria. As for Justin Russo’s older son and wife, they will be portrayed by actor Alkaio Thiele and actress Mimi Gianopulos, respectively. The release date has yet to be announced.
Wizards Of Waverly Place is an original series that ran for four seasons from 2007 to2012 on Disney Channel. Created by producer-writer Todd J Greenwald, the show followed the Russo family, where three siblings mastered their powers while navigating the challenges of adolescence.
