Echo

Marvel Studio’s latest Disney+ show marks several milestones. The five-part limited series, starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, is the label’s first Marvel Spotlight release, a banner for projects without “larger MCU continuity”. Meaning: You can come in fresh, with limited prior knowledge of the previous MCU films and TV shows. All you need to know is that Maya first appeared in Hawkeye as the leader of the Tracksuit Mafia.  In another Marvel first, the title character — who is deaf and an amputee — is played by an actor who’s deaf and has a prosthetic lower right leg. The show also promises to be grittier and more violent than your typical PG-friendly MCU fare. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onoforio will also turn up as Daredevil and Kingpin, ahead of their return in the still-in-production Daredevil: Born Again.

The Trust

Subtitled A Game of Greed, Netflix’s latest game show sees 11 strangers given US$250,000 (S$332.7000) to split evenly. They can each go home with about US$22,700 or they can get a larger share by voting somebody out of the group. Will greed prevail? Naturlich. Hosted by Emmy-nominated journalist Brooke Baldwin.

Killers of the Flower Moon

More stories about greed. Martin Scorsese’s Oscars-buzzy epic finally arrives on streaming! Starring Leonard DiCaprio, Robert de Niro and Lily Gladstone, the three-and-a-half-hour crime thriller is about white people resorting to murder to steal oil-rich land from the Native American Osage Nation people in 1920s Oklahoma.

Role Play

High-concept action comedy alert! Chaos ensures when a suburb dad (David Oyelowo) discovers his wife (Kaley Cuoco) is also as an assassin. What?! Get the fork out of here!. My gut says this is a steaming piece of streamer filler not unlike Apple TV+’s Ghosted or 85% of Netflix’s original features — something you let in run in the background while doing laundry.
